About
You probably won't read this, but maybe some people are curious…
Me
My name is Dan and I live in Sussex in the UK.
I have been on a computer since 1992, when an already ancient Amstrad CPC 464 arrived from a shop called Techno Trade in Fareham. I spent hours playing Harrier Attack and other games, listening to the screechy noise of the tapes as they loaded. An Amiga 1200 followed in 1994 and I was hooked.
I started off as both designer and developer whilst studying Creative Technology. At university, the first company I started made Flash games. If you can remember what they are, your knees probably creak like mine do.
After that I started Buffalo, which is now 20 years old. I am still involved in, and love, all areas of the work, even more now than when I started my career.
I now focus on strategy and user experience and have helped many companies create a brand, website or even business from scratch, or rejig what they already have. Some of these have even gone on to raise substantial funding, which may or may not have been in some way due to my input.
What I enjoy out of work
Spending time with my wife and two boys, consuming all the things you can find out about on this site, playing guitar, travelling, gig-going and taking photos.
Why do I have this site?
I have been missing the old web, wanting somewhere to try things out online and having somewhere to document life: basically, a personal online home. I am very much out of practice with taking photos, so it is likely to be slow going, but hopefully you might stick around until the pictures improve.
